SDA Senior High School, Agona, Ashanti, as her vision stands, “With prudent management practices and provision of holistic quality education”, the school would strive to become an excellent center of education.
The mission statement of the school holds to her values to uplift the students mentally, spiritually, physically and socially to make them ready for the joy of service in this world and the world hereafter through Christian principles and government policies.
The above vision and mission statements of the school is explicitly on course, its end result is what we are experiencing now as AGAOSA. The yielding or the output is what we are enjoying outside the world in the various capacities to enhance global development.

Brief history of the school

SDA Senior High School, Agona, Ashanti was founded by the Seventh-day Adventist Church on the 25th October, 1963. It was a Teacher Training College – Agona SDA Training College (AGATCO). The school was started with 90 students 60 boys and 30 boys. Mr L. H Berlin a white educationist was the first principal. He was succeeded by Mr I. K Ansong – the first black principal, he served as the longest school head. In October 1972, based on the educational policies at that time, the training college was change to secondary school education. Now the school is senior high school, thus SDA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AGONA. The school was at first running on double campuses: the Old and New sites. The school is currently re-located at one site at off Asamang road. AGASS is now a big school with a population of about 3,200 students.

I am delighted and very pleased to welcome you to AGASS. This is a thriving school with a well-established reputation for high standards. Today we are one of the largest Senior High Schools in Ghana, with SHS 2: 1129, SHS 1 (Green): 683 and SHS 1 (Gold): 654 students on roll.
The school benefits from extensive facilities including 1 all-weather sports pitch set in extensive playing fields of over 5 acres.

Students at AGASS consistently achieve examination results that are well-above the national average. We are one of the highest performing schools in the country, a fact recognized by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
